The federal government has also announced that those who have a criminal record for possession of Marijuana under 30 grams will be pardoned. They hope to have this in effect by end of 2018.
For those who already finished serving their sentence, the liberal government will work on removing the stigma of their criminal records according to Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety.
